Dr. Alexandra Calle is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Public Health, and Food Safety at Texas Tech University, School of Veterinary Medicine. She has over 27 years of food safety and microbiology experience. Her research combines scientific work in microbiology with a practical application in the meat industry, leading to multiple scientific publications. Her scope and mission are to contribute to improving public health outcomes and enhance the safety of foods internationally through research, outreach, and education. She collaborates with the government including, FDA, USDA, CDC, international agencies such as IICA, and private industries.
